You know the drill:
1) Comment on this post to be added.
2) Be nice!
3) I find myself frequently talking about Supernatural, Dollhouse, Castle, Jason Mraz and Doctor Who. If you're curious about my "J" conspiracy theory (a quite delicious conspiracy if you ask me) check out my profile for a full list. My fandom stuff isn't flocked, but I thought I should warn you of the squee ahead of time.
If you want me for my fics (and any other creative-like thing that pops into my head) my writing LJ is [info]sitrow . If you want me for my (seriously delayed) spillcaps, that journal is [info]spillindabeans .

That's basically as high as my standards go. Enjoy!

Livejournal is so fucking awesome for chronicling things, because I inevitably have to go back and find a post that was made months or years ago.

Also, I'm alive. Kind of well. Not really.

ANYWAY, how are YOU?

Does anyone know of any really good biographies of George Harrison? I know some must exist, and I could search for them myself, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with a solid recommendation.

...He might be surpassing Paul. MAYBE. I just identify with him a lot, I think.

Pretty much life hates me because I was halfway through writing up Sunday (after writing ALL of Saturday) and through some mishap I delete the entire entry. LJ chooses then to autosave. So basically, I'm screwed and I'm gonna have to write up a not-so-awesome second draft which I hate doing since it's never as good as the first.

Also, I've been putting off making updates because I wanted to write about Comic Con first, but I guess that's not going to happen. So? Pimpage. Pimpage all the way.

In the past week I have joined:
[info]whedonland (I haven't been sorted yet, but hopefully I'll be an Active.)
[info]wholand (Go Team UNIT! There are five members on our team, all the others have at least ten. FML.)

I'm also considering [info]spnland but I'm not sure.

Also, welcome to....holy shit there are a lot of you guys. Um, the Deanbottoms crew, I guess? Roam free, my pets. You have entered a land of crack.

Be prepared for memes.

P.S. And please please PLEASE if you have any songs to contribute, post them to [info]lookbacksongs. I REALLY don't want that comm to die because it could potentially be my happy place.

P.S.S. Seriously, you guys, any suggestions for movie comms?

Still too wiped out to make a huge post today. Would you guys kill me if I made it tomorrow?

Here, have some bribery/teasers: )

I have little to no idea how to do this properly, but I'm going to try to mix stories, panels and pictures while NOT stabbing your bandwidth in the eyes with a pair of tweezers. I have LOTS of photos, but I'm going to save the secondary ones for the next post. Onwards!

Thursday )

Friday )
An appropriate end to Friday! I'm probably going to, you know, sleep, and then post Saturday and Sunday which includes:

Glee
Heroes
Doctor Who
Torchwood
Being Human

So you know, everything awesome in the world.

Please don't take our photos without credit. Tues, Cookie and I traded off taking photos and we wouldn't want all our hard work to go unnoticed :/ At least tag this journal.

So, do you guys want my write-up of Comic-Con first or the pictures? Because there are a LOT of pictures, and to save you guys all from bandwith hell I might just split those up into two posts (one with celebrities, one without). You can already get my experience of the first day over at [info]ibroketuesday's journal. The only things I did not do with those two was going to the TRS panel (EEEEEEEE! I know I'm the only one on my flish who cares, but I WILL SQUEE GODDAMMIT) and going to the Doctor Who panel instead of the Supernatural one. I HAS AMAZING SPOILERS THAT YOU'VE PROBABLY ALREADY HEARD. I do however have an awesome, awesome Heroes panel story so maybe I'll just pick and choose my favorite moments. I don't know, I've never done this before!

Keep in mind that all my photos of celebrities are both ridiculous and well-shot (IISM).

Merlin.

OH GOOD GOD THIS SHOW. First of all, if the whole rooftop conversation between Arthur and Merlin wasn't squee-worthy enough, there's the whole sleeping on the floor together and FOOTSIE and Arthur teasing Merlin as a friend and WHY DIDN'T WE SEE MORE OF THIS IN OTHER EPISODES? It's so awesome. Also, this exchange made me giggle:

"Remind you of how I used to beat you?"
"That never happened."

I really hope they don't take the direction of the show in an Arthur/Gwen direction. I was kind of confused and upset at first but now I think it works for the show that it leans toward Merlin/Gwen. Don't ruin it by going canon! Forge your own way! But really, this episode in general is (I'm still not done) so much awesome.

FOOT IN FACE. FOOT. IN. FACE.

P.S. Dear God, Will is so, so dead. And for some reason, his name in my head is spelled with one L. IDK why, it just is.

P.P.S. OH MAN MERLIN'S MOM SHIPS MERLIN/ARTHUR SO HARD.

Also, did 40s and 50s movies really have scripts? Because it's not like there's much plot in them at all and it just seems...unnecessary. That and I really don't want to write a script because I know it'll be horrible and OMG WHY DO I FAIL SO HARD?

I just redid my layout and it's AMAZING! I love it so much because it's pink, and dotty, and very me. I am very happy, and therefore grateful to [info]thefulcrum.

Speaking of layouts made from [info]thefulcrum (DYCWIDT?) I have a new comm! Yaaaaay! [info]lookbacksongs[info]lookbacksongs[info]lookbacksongs[info]lookbacksongs[info]lookbacksongs

Go! Join! Participate! I really, really want this comm to do well so please pimp it out to all your friends! Mostly so I can get my Gigi soundtrack Because I believe that everyone either has an interest in old music or would if they had access to it. Or not, whatever, but PLEASE JOIN, OKAY?! Okay.

I know I have yet to give my opinion on anything I've seen in the last week (Harry Potter and 500 Days of Summer). I do have photos and such and some video, but I don't want to put any other video on YouTube aside from this one:

Um anything else you cool cats want to know about? I decided that I'm not going to "500 Days of Summer" again tonight not because I don't want to but because this is one of my last chances to eat some delicious Thai food from one of my favorite restaurants. And then we'll probably watch Annie Hall or something else that I found on VHS last night. There are LOTS of good movies that I have on VHS but don't have on DVD.

I need to write fic or something. I wrote a little original drabble and will probably post it at [info]sitrow but I'm not 100% happy with it since I feel like it's covered ground. Maybe my Intro. to Creative Writing class next semester will help me get my gears turning again. Or...IDK what will happen.

I can't find the soundtrack to Gigi. This annoys me to no end since there always seems to be something old that I want to find but can't because most things on LJ are Top 40 or bust. SO...if I made a "classic" comm, would people be interested/contribute? Classics would range from the 40s (or even before) to the 80s (maybe a bit later). Soundtracks would be encouraged, but major albums of the time periods would also be welcome. I just want a place where people can find the OST for The Maltese Falcon and maybe Purple Haze or something.

Anyone? Bueller?

Saw "500 Days of Summer".

Now I have nothing to accomplish for the rest of my life.

P.S. My mom and sister went to a yard sale this morning and brought me back a Monkees CD! It's the first one, and it was only for a dollar which is why they were willing to pay for it, but still! Monkees!

Well, I'm totally dressing up like Luna Lovegood tonight and acting the idiot. It shouldn't be that hard XD I'm pretty excited but I know that my costume is going to suck and I'm not totally sure what the plans are. I see silly pictures in my future.

Speaking of the plans, are any of you DW peeps out there going to Comic-Con? Any of you camping out? I'm trying to gauge if a) I will have to camp out in order to see the panel and b) if any of you would mind camping out with me if that happens? I'm generally going to be with [info]cookie_simone and [info]ibroketuesday but they're not going to that panel so IDK if what I'm going to do. Also, there's a late TRS panel that I'm DYING to go to but that's neither here nor there since I can't really do anything about it until we get there.

I'm not sure if I want The Beatles to beat out Dylan and Sinatra on last.fm :/ Speaking of, I finally got my iPod (it's silver!) and a hot pink metal cover and it's awesome awesome awesome. I'm so glad I have my music back with me. As sad as it is, it was hard to leave the house because I'd always want to listen to music.

500 Days of Summer on Friday! BEST MOVIE WEEK EVER.

I should probably sleep and stuff since I'm going to be up all night. Although I'm far too experienced at that.

• Post ten of any pictures currently on your hard drive that you think are self-expressive.

• NO CAPTIONS!!! It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words.

• They must ALREADY be on your hard drive - no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.

• You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.

I totally broke the rule and have thirteen. Because I never shut up. I don't like that number, but whatever.

I'm including my photography because it's basically the only photos I have )

Or not. Ever.

"I was watching The Beatles Anthology, and Paul McCartney talked about how the best pop songs are songs that are sung from the artist to the female teenage audience -- like 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand,'" explains Lee. "'Catch My Disease' follows that model, too. The message [in my] music is a bit complex. But pop music's so great, because as long as you put it to a catchy melody everyone's happy."

Lee says he's refreshed and ready to take his new bag of songs on the road this spring, having just wrapped up a month-long visit to India, where he studied with a spiritual guide.

I'm trying to drown out my sister watching "Jon and Kate Plus 8" with The Monkees. I think I'm winning, but the fact that she's watching makes me feel icky inside.

My camera! I finally got my camera, and this is roughly what it looks like:

No, wait wait! This is it:

I love EVERYTHING about it (the picture is fantastic and clear and squee-worthy!) but the dial is a little annoying sometimes and I don't think that it has macro, unless it's hidden somewhere. Which means no flower close-ups. I'm going to check the manual to see what's up with that. But the zoom is GREAT. I'm so in love with it.

Sorry for the spaminosity of my posts lately, I promise that is the last for today's ramblings. Yesterday took pretty much 24 hours to compile and responding to comments (although I love them, being I'm a comment!whore and all) was a bitch.

I got out of my internship early so I could watch the Jackson memorial because they basically ran out of things for me to do. All while listening to Pandora and tweeting incessantly. I listened to two versions of "Instant Karma" and multiple live songs by McCartney. Not that I mind, but you think they'd be able to play more songs off of their many many albums. ALSO! I said I wouldn't spam, so I'm not going to post a picture, but I discovered Paul's live album cover that parodies Abbey Road. WTF? Half of me wanted to laugh and the other half wanted to cry.

Two-for-Tuesday pizza at Mama Lucia's! \o/ LOL it's totally worth mentioning.
